Community exceeds goal to raise money for teen funerals
HOUSE SPRINGS, MO (KPLR) – Two teens are dead after a car crash on Saturday night in House Springs. Now, the community is rallying to help pay for medical expenses and funeral arrangements for those involved in the accident. In the last two days $13,000 has been raised through an online campaign. Fund raisers have doubled their goal. The Northwest High School students are also selling t-shirts to raise money.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that Matthew C. Roskowske, 18, was driving southbound on Carol Park Road with passenger Cameron S. Stewart, 15, Saturday night. Around 10:15pm, the car went off the road, striking several trees and overturning. Roskowske was airlifted to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead. Stewart was rushed to St. Anthony’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There is a memorial of crosses and photos set up at the crash site on Carol Park Road just north of Valley Drive. Al Nothum of the Missouri State Highway Partol said investigation sill on going. Police say it is too soon to say why car crashed.
