LEMAY, MO (KTVI) - It was a dramatic scene early Tuesday morning in Lemay as three fire departments worked to get a woman out of a car. She crashed her car, wrapping it around a power pole.

Authorities say it took 45 minutes to get the woman out of her car. She apparently was trapped under the dashboard.

The accident happened on Horn at Wachtel around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The car that the woman was in was the only car involved and she was the only person inside.  The Lemay fire chief says the woman was in her mid 20s and was conscious and alert when she was taken away by ambulance.

Lemay, Mehlville and Affton fire protection districts also responded to help.

St. Louis County police are now investigating the crash. At this point, it's unclear what happened, but a neighbor called the police to say a car was speeding down the street right before the crash.
