Clayton considers raising taxes

(KTVI) – Clayton wants you to pay more taxes.  The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the city of Clayton is considering a property tax increase and sales hike.

That’s because of declining revenue and increasing expenses.  The money would pay for emergency services, economic development, street improvements and a new ice rink at Shaw Park.

Aldermen are expected to vote Tuesday on placing the tax proposals on the April 8th ballot.
