(KPLR) – Do you have some holiday weight to shed?  Celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito talked with Elliot Weiler about “The Pound A Day Diet: Lose up to 5 pounds in 5 days by eating the foods you love.”

He has advice for tackling the grocery store while you start a new diet and how to stay on track.

Rocco’s plan is billed as re-writing every carb/fat/calorie rule in the book, and is based on three breakthrough diet insights of effective, scientifically based weight loss: calorie correction, carb density, and the Mediterranean diet pattern.

It includes real food, frequent healthy meals, and a maintenance plan that people can follow for the rest of their lives.

  • Nickolas says:

I’m leery of anything whose point of inception is the mind of someone who cannot subtract 67 from 100.

  • Denise Logan says:

Starting in December I’ve been adopting a more Mediterranean diet, I’d highly recommend to anyone as I feel great. It’s true what they say – you are what you eat! There is some free information on it available here:

  • James Forest says:

Low carb diet can really avoid us from acquiring diabetes. Avoiding too much sweets can do the same too. Diabetes will change a whole lot of our lives if we will not be conscious of what we eat. Healthy foods are the best.

  • Rebecah says:

Couldn’t agree more, sir! After five months of eating low carb, no refined or processed foods, lean protein, organic vegetables and one small piece of fruit a day, along with daily walking of 25-45 minutes, I’ve lost close to 40 lbs, and dropped my BMI by three points to 31, and will continue to lower it. No more medication for high BP and my acid reflux has disappeared, A1c is perfect. It took a diagnosis of diabetes to wake me up, but as a former competing athlete, I wasn’t going to take it lying down. My blood glucose is diet controlled. I eat no wheat, and only whole foods, nothing from a box or package. I eat several small meals a day. I’m 57, and I feel great!
