ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)– There are about 3,000 people without power from the storm.
Ameren Illinois is dealing with about 1,600 outages, most in the Fairview Heights area.
And in Missouri, Ameren Missouri has about 1,400 outages, 1,000 of those in De Soto.
A spokesperson for Ameren Illinois says the power lines snapped after becoming stretched by freezing temperatures. And poor road conditions slowed access for repair crews trying to restore service.
A spokesperson for Ameren Illinois estimates power outages affected over 45,000 Illinois customers. We’ve been told power has been restored for all of them within the last hour.
