(KPLR) – The bad weather plus a loss for the SIU Saluki basketball team made for a long trip home Sunday night.
The team was stranded on I-57 on their way home from a game at Illinois State.
The manager for the team tweeted this picture of the bus.
The driver pulled over when he couldn’t see the road, and then got stuck.
The team spent six hours on the bus until a tow truck to pull them to safety.
They then spent the night sleeping at a Tuscola, Illinois church until getting back on the road Monday morning.
