ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – With this cold weather, those without a home are in danger.
At the 12th and Park overflow shelter, homeless people are eating breakfast Monday morning after they spent the night on cots in the gym.
More than 117 people are there, including women and children.
The hot meals are provided by the Salvation Army. It’s been so crowded at this south St. Louis shelter that people have been bused to other shelters in the area, including out to St. Louis County.
It’s a massive effort to keep these people warm during the cold spell.
If you are in need of a warm place to stay, you can call 211 for information on the closest shelter.
