Winter storm and coming bitter cold forces closures


ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – Most of the St. Louis region has received between 6 to 14 inches of snow, and with temperatures expected to fall below zero for Sunday and Monday; many area governments, courts, utility offices and attractions will be closed Sunday and Monday, January 6th.

Here’s a list of some those closings:

  • City of St. Louis
  • Ferguson City Offices
  • Courthouses in Madison, and Bond County in Illinois…Sunday and Monday, Jan. 6th
  • Madison County Criminal Justice Center… Sunday and Monday, Jan. 6th
  • Circuit Clerk’s Office in Alton and Granite City… Sunday and Monday, Jan. 6th


  • St. Louis Zoo closed Sunday, Jan. 5th
  • Missouri History Museum closed Sunday, Jan. 5th
  • West Side Story at the Fox Theatre is cancelled for Sunday, Jan. 5th
  • St. Louis Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse closed Sunday, Jan. 5th
  • St. Louis Botanical Garden closed  Sunday, Jan. 5th


  • Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District on Monday, Jan. 6th
  • Essential operation personnel should report for duty as scheduled
  • Customer Service Linen will be open at 314-768-6260


  • St. Louis Outlet Mall closed Sunday, Jan. 5th
    Wehrenberg Theatres closed Sunday, Jan. 5th
    Mid-Rivers Mall closed Sunday, Jan. 5th
    YMCA’s of Greater St. Louis closed Sunday, Jan. 5TH
    Waste Management will operate on holiday schedule for the week of Jan. 6th
