ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– An expected weekend winter wallop had many holiday travelers leaving for their destinations early Friday.

Much of the Midwest and areas in the North East are expected to get hit hard this weekend with bad weather.

The weather could cause dangerous road conditions and flight delays.

Michael Katz rescheduled his flight to Toronto because of the weather.

“I was supposed to leave Saturday, but I moved up my flight,” he said. “I want to be home with my family, and I don’t want the weather to change things.”

MoDOT will have more than 200 trucks out in the St. Louis are treating roads Friday and Saturday.

At least nine people were killed in car crashes in the state during last weekend’s storm.
