St. Louis man picked to lead Boeing during Missouri’s 777-X bid

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – The Boeing Company has chosen St. Louisan Dennis Muilenburg, to be the company’s next President and Chief Operating Officer, according to Boeings website.

Muilenburg is currently based in St. Louis as the President and Chief Executive of St. Louis-based Boeing Defense, Space & Security. He joined the company in 1985 and is 49-years-old. He sits on the board of Washington University, and the St. Louis Science Center.

Muilenburg’s appointment comes in the midst of Missouri, and other state bidding to land the Boeing’s 777-X manufacturing plant.
His appointment is effective December 31, 2013.
