(KPLR) – Missouri education officials will host a public hearing Wednesday night on the failing Normandy school district. At a hearing last month, the district revealed plans to stay open, but that changes were coming to the district.

Tonight’s meeting will reveal plans for layoffs, early retirements and at least one school closure.

District officials say the cuts are the result of the costly student transfer program.

The meeting is slated to start at 6:30 pm at the Normandy High School.
