CEDAR HILL, MO (KTVI)-- A four-year-old girl was found wandering alone without a jacket in the Cedar Hill Lakes Subdivision Tuesday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The girl was staying at a home in the subdivision with her mother. The two laid down for a nap, but the girl woke up and went outside while her mother was still sleeping, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The girl was outside for about 15 minutes before neighbors saw her and helped.
The temperature was around 30 degrees.
A male neighbor brought the girl to Laura Drummond's home around 4 p.m.
"We just warmed her up and called 911 to find out where she lived," Drummond said. "She was wearing pajamas."
Police knocked on several doors in the area, but were unable to locate the mother until after 6 p.m.
Jefferson County prosecutors are considering charges.
The girl and her mother are visiting from Florida.
The four-year-old was placed with the Division of Family Services Tuesday.
The girl did not need medical attention.
"We are just glad she is okay," Drummond said.
