(KPLR) - There are a lot of exciting things happening in St. Louis. Ikea has announced it is opening a store at Vandevander and Forest Park Parkway. Ballpark Village is scheduled to open next year in time for the Cardinals' new baseball season. Boeing is considering the Gateway City as the place to build its 777X airplane.

In the midst of all of the good news, there is some not so good news. St. Louis is still dealing with a negative image problem that just won't go away. 

The perception is that  St. Louis is a dangerous city.
