Pictures: Imperial crash victim cut from wreckage

IMPERIAL, MO (KTVI) – Emergency crews worked for nearly an hour to free an accident victim from a wrecked vehicle Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 6:40a.m. on the outer road near Interstate 55 and the Imperial Main exit.

Blaire Nixon, 20, was driving a Kia Spectra northbound when she lost control on the wet pavement while making a left turn. She slid into a Ford F250 pickup truck going southbound. The Kia ended up in the ditch on the side of the road.

ARCH helicopter was called to the scene to transport the passenger, Brandon Buck, 21, to a hospital.

Nixon is in moderate condition. Buck is in serious condition. The driver of the pickup truck suffered only minor injuries. Everyone was wearing seatbelts.
