Soldier with cancer gets to attend his first NFL game
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The Rams gave an Army soldier a gift of a lifetime Sunday.
Staff Sergeant Raymond Knestrick is having one of the best weekends of his life. The 14-year Army veteran is taking in the sights and sounds of the Rams/Tennessee Titans game.
The Rams made his dream of going to an NFL game a reality. It’s the first game he’s ever attended.
Knestrick was diagnosed with stage 2 stomach cancer in March after being stationed in Africa. He just finished his last round of chemo and wrote the team for Coach Fisher’s autograph. He got an autographed hat and a lot more, making his trip from Fort Gordon in Georgia well worth it.
He says Fisher’s assistant helped him out.
This military man is still on the mend and has a long road to recovery, but a weekend with his favorite team is lifting his spirits and making the healing process a little easier.
