Funeral in St. Louis kept TSA worker out of danger at LAX
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– Locally, travel troubles have been at a minimum at Lambert Airport, but one passenger who arrived from Los Angeles Friday morning is incredibly relieved.
That family was among the lucky ones. They were already on flights out of Los Angeles before the gunfire erupted. But Lori Brown will tell you her good fortune extends beyond the timing of her departure.
At Lambert there were a few signs for cancellations, and one big sigh of relief. That came from Lori Brown, back home in St. Louis for a funeral from her current city of Los Angeles. She missed the chaos at LAX by just a couple of hours.
But that’s just part of what makes the attack in LA hit close to home. Her daughter was also coming in from LA on a different flight. She took off work for the trip. She works for the TSA at Los Angeles international airport.
As for travelers, this incident made for an uncertain day. Flights to and from Los Angeles were delayed, or even cancelled. But many connect to get there from here. There was a line at the Frontier counter, an airline that does business in the terminal where the shootings happened. They weren’t telling their LA bound passengers much.
Lambert officials tell us nothing ever really changed, no tightened security or anything like that. But travelers heading west may want to check with their airlines today and tomorrow to make sure the troubles at LAX aren’t affecting their plans.
