Alderwoman pays the price for a World Series bet
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Several baseball fans working in Boston and St. Louis’ city governments placed friendly wagers before the World Series. Since the Red Sox beat the Cardinals, it is time to pay up.
There was a fair amount of trash talking between fans of both teams. 6th Ward Alderwoman Christine Ingrassia had to wear a Red Sox shirt to Friday’s board meeting in downtown St. Louis.
She had a bet with Boston City Counselor Bill Linehan. That wasn’t all she sent St. Louis cuisine, including toasted ravioli, from several 6Th Ward restaurants.
she said she got a little heat from her fellow aldermen. She said wearing the shirt was embarrassing. But, she said Boston deserved to win and it was a fun series.
