White House should delay Obamacare because of roll-out mess
ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – OK, Time for one of those full disclosure moments. I happen to think Obamacare’s a halfway good idea. I say halfway, because as we’ve noted on Jacology before, I’m in favor of MediCare for everybody. I think we should expand MediCare to cover every man, woman and child in the US. Let private insurance companies make money on homeowners and life and car insurance, but get them out of the health insurance business. That hybrid world of insurance works swell in Switzerland, why not here?
So, I’m in favor of what’s called, single payer health insurance. The single payer being MediCare.
With my opinion out of the way, the roll-out of ObamaCare and it’s web site is an absolute stinking disaster. The latest screw-up is being blamed on a Verizon data center for crashing under the traffic load. Before that, it was erroneous code. Before that, it was the requirement that everyone register and have their incomes confirmed with the IRS before they could even get on the site. Really? This is like Google or Amazon being designed by the North Koreans. It’s a mess because the White House wanted to keep the private insurance companies in the health insurance business, which they shouldn’t be.
Anyway, no one should be required to buy a product that it’s almost impossible to purchase. So, requirements for buying insurance for everyone need to be pushed back until this is fixed. But at the same time, take what critics are saying with a few pounds of salt. These are the people who shut down the government and threatened default on the national debt in a tantrum over repealing ObamaCare. These are the same people now saying, whoa, this thing doesn’t work. But, like the stopped clock that’s right twice a day, they’re right in this case.
So, until we come to our senses and implement MediCare for everybody the Obamacare website has to be fixed Some people have to be fire and mandatory insurance requirements have to be delayed. Come to think of it, just scrap the whole thing, re-write the MediCare law to eliminate the words, “only for people over 65″, and we’re good.
I’m Charles Jaco and That’s Jacology.
