Fewer People Getting Taken By Counterfeit World Series Tickets
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Cardinal fans got stuck with 80 counterfeit tickets Saturday night and three bad tickets turned up at Sunday’s game.
Cardinal ticket officials think there was a big drop because they spread the message to fans to be careful. Rob Fasoldt is the Director of Cardinal Ticket Sales, “We got out to the newspaper and different media outletsand I think that really helped. But a lot of these folks are from out of town. They come in, they drop counterfeit tickets in the market, and then they try to get outand I think that’s played a part as well.”
He says the quality of this year’s counterfeit tickets is excellent. Even he had a tough time telling the real ones from the fake tickets.
There’s also been a drop in the cost of tickets for game five in the secondary market.
Redbird fan Andrew Kennard has been watching prices, “Last night we looked they were about $400. Tonight they’re about $80. Standing room only.”
Fasoldt added, “It has a lot to with a Monday night versus a Saturday and Sunday night that we had for games three and four, and also the fact the Cardinals can’t clinch the World Series tonight probably plays a role.”
