New road surface tested on I-44
(KTVI) – MoDOT is trying to make the streets safer for you. They’re testing a new pavement that’s designed to provide better traction on sharp curves and in bad weather.
The “high friction surface treatment” is being tested in four places, including areas along Interstate 44 near Rolla and two spots near Jefferson City.
A federal grant is paying part of the costs of the tests, designed to get new technology in use faster.
