Sandy Hook parents vote to demolish school
NEWTON, CT. (KPLR) – Residents in Newtown, Connecticut voted overwhelmingly Saturday to tear down the sandy hook elementary school and replace it.
The building is expected to be demolished soon — before the one-year anniversary of the mass shooting that killed 20 students and six adults.
Voters approved the 50-million dollar project in a referendum. Officials are hoping to have the new school re-open in January 2016.
