Three homes lost, one child sent to hospital in Fairmont City fire
FAIRMONT CITY, IL (KTVI) – There are new details are coming from St. Louis American Red Cross officials about survivors of Wednesday morning’s massive fire at the Forum Mobile Home Park in Fairmont City, Illinois.
According to the Red Cross’ Peggy Barnhart, that fire destroyed three trailer homes and sent one child to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She expected that child to be released sometime Thursday.
The agency is providing food and clothing to 15 people – 8 adults and 7 children. A local pastor helped the Spanish-speaking survivors communicate with volunteers. Neighbors offered shelter.
Clergy from the Revive Assembly of God then stepped forward to offer more clothing. The church is holding a clothing giveaway for the entire community this weekend.
