Reward doubled in gruesome animal abuse case

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– The reward offered for information into a gruesome case of animal abuse has been doubled.

Four-year-old pit bull Zeus suffered 3rd degree burns on 75-percent of his head.

The injuries were so gruesome we had to change pictures of him to black and white.

Late last month, he vanished from his home on Amelia Avenue and then returned covered in burns.

His owner rushed him to a veterinarian, but Zeus did not survive.

A $5,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who burned Zeus.
