Waterloo man injured in BASE jump
IDAHO (KPLR) – A Waterloo, Illinois man suffered serious injuries when his main parachute failed to open during a BASE bridge jump in southern Idaho, according to FOX 14 KTWT.
Investigators say 45-year-old Timothy Sumpter was hurt Saturday, while base jumping off Perrine Bridge at Twin Falls, Idaho.
The bridge spans the Snake River Canyon, a 486 foot drop to the river.
Sumpter was airlifted to a medical center in Boise, were he’s listed in critical condition with injuries to his pelvis, back and shoulder.
