47 arrests, 58 towed motorcycles after “Ride of the Century” weekend
ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - St. Louis Police say they arrested 47 people over the weekend who were participating in the “Ride of the Century,” an annual motorcycle ride which draws thousands of riders and stunt bikers.
According to police, 23 people were arrested on Thursday alone for careless and reckless driving. Twenty-four bikes were towed. Friday netted nine arrests for the same charge as well as a stolen property arrest. Police towed nine motorcycles Friday.
There were no arrests made on Saturday, but 15 made on Sunday which included 10 various traffic charges and five tampering charges.
Twenty-five motorcycles were towed on Sunday for charges ranging from stolen property, no insurance or registration, to other various traffic charges.
