(KPLR) - After a day of record heat which saw a high of 103° at Lambert, some small, but intense thunderstorms are firing up. These isolated storms will be capable of brief 40-60 mph wind gusts, some hail, brief but impressive downpours and intense lightning. Most spots will not see any rain at all. However, where the storms hit they will last about 10 minutes before moving southeast.
