(KPLR) – Going after saggy pants as a step toward fighting crime.

Tonight St. Louis Alderman Marlene Davis will be at Long Middle school in south St. Louis.

There will be a forum to hear input about whether the city should ban saggy pants.

She tells me a ban would be a way to send a message that we care about and respect our city.

She also thinks it's one small way to curb crime.

She also praised New York mayor Michael Bloomberg for his controversial crime fighting efforts.

Whether you agree or not, at least someone is trying to make a difference.  I think that's better than doing nothing.
