JENNINGS, MO (KTVI)-- Moline Acres police are investigating a shooting that ended with a vehicle crashing into a home in Jennings.  Police say the victim was shot in the leg on the parking lot of the Shop `N Save on Lewis and Clark Boulevard.

Police say the shooting victim drove his SUV into a house on Sumter.  Police say it appeared the shooting victim lost consciousness.  Several people were inside the home and were not injured.

Dwight Sandford said it sounded as if an earthquake struck his house multiple times.  He said the victim had his foot on the gas peddle even after the crash.

Sandford said the brick frame of his house was the only thing that kept the SUV from continuing.  He said smoke was coming from the vehicle and was worried there could be an explosion.

The vehicle was safely removed Monday evening.  Sandford was relieved to learn that the man who crashed into his house will survive.

"I put my hand on his heart and it was still beating so I stepped away," said Sandford.

Moline Acres police plan to question the victim as soon he gained consciousness.  A department supervisor said the victim`s injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
