ALTON, MO (KTVI) -- Commissioners wanted to know how changes in the river over the past year had affected residents and business owners.  This was the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s annual low-water inspection trip.  Officials took the opportunity to meet with those affected by the river and tributaries.

It would not be all serious business.  The meeting would be held on the MV Mississippi, the largest diesel-powered towboat in the United States.  The crew would hold tours over the weekend.
