Trayvon Martin’s father visit’s Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KPLR) – Trayvon Martin’s father will be in Washington today (Wednesday).

Tracy Martin is expected to appear on capitol hill to speak at the newly-formed “Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys.”

Martin is scheduled to deliver opening remarks at today’s hearing.

It comes more than a week after George Zimmerman was acquitted in his son’s shooting death after claiming self-defense.

Protests held nationwide have demanded the U.S. Government bring federal charges against Zimmerman.

Justice department officials are investigating.
