(KTVI) – St. Louis Metro Police are looking for several men accused of a strong-arm robbery overnight.
Investigators said patrol officers drove up on a disturbing scene late Sunday night. A man was bleeding and stumbling in the street. So just before midnight, officers called for St. Louis city Fire Department paramedics to come to Garnier Street and Beck Avenue in South St. Louis. Those medics treated the male victim for scratches and bruises.
According to police, the victim said he was walking to his girlfriend’s home. Then, an SUV stopped. The victim said four men inside the SUV robbed him of his wallet.
A short time later, police found the suspects’ vehicle a few blocks away at Tholozan Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue. It was abandoned, but still had some of the victim’s personal items inside.
This vehicle has not been reported stolen. Police said they have been able to identify the owner. There is no word on any arrests at this hour.
