MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO. (KTVI) – The former restaurant on Dorsett near McKelvey has been closed for more than two years. City planners couldn’t agree with developers on how to reuse the property.

Plans to replace a long-vacant Pasta House restaurant with a multi-use building that could house another restaurant, an eye-glass retailer and a cellphone store were nixed at a meeting of the Maryland Heights planning commission on Tuesday.

City Planner Michael Zeek told Patch the panel had tried “to broker a compromise between the developer” Baldridge Properties of St. Louis, which owns the property near the corner of Dorsett and McKelvey.
