(CNN) – Oprah Winfrey has donated 12-million-dollars to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.

This follows Winfrey’s one million dollar donation in 2007.

In honor of her gift, the museum’s theater will be named after Winfrey.

“I am so proud of African American history and its contributions to our nation as a whole,” Winfrey said.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture was established as a Smithsonian Museum by an act of congress in 2003.
