(KTVI) – The fifth grade class at Highcrest Middle School in Wilmette, Illinois is unique: they have 24 sets of twins.

The Peoria Journal Star says twins Luke and Ryan Novesel, 11, were looking for Guiness World records to break when they counted the number of twins in their school directory. Most of the twins are fraternal. Of 24 sets, three are boy-boy twins, 11 are girl-girl twins, and 10 are boy-girl twins. The two sets of identical twins are girl-girl pairs.

The current Guinness World record for Most Twins in the Same Academic Year at One School is 16 pairs. Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois has held that record since January 1, 2012.

Luke and Ryan submitted their official application to Guinness earlier this year, telling the Journal Star they expect official recognition soon.
