SPRINGFIELD, IL (KTVI) – Illinois legislators aren’t taking this Memorial day off.  Time is running out in the spring session which is scheduled to end this Friday.

The state senate returned to Springfield on Monday.  A new state budget must be adopted.

The legislators are still wrestling with competing versions of a state pension reform bill. They must adopt a bill allowing people to carry concealed weapons. And gay activists hope the general assembly will still have time to act on a bill to legalize gay marriage.
