The Way It Oughta Be: Coasting Ticket

(KPLR) – It doesn't seem possible but it's true.  Some drives have received a speeding ticket without even having their foot on the gas pedal.

One of our viewers was upset because she received a speeding ticket while coasting downhill.

In fact she says she was even using her brakes to slow the car down.

I hate those downhill roads with a 30 mile per hour limit.

It really is difficult to keep your car from speeding; especially if you want to keep your brakes from wearing out before 50,000 miles.

So I wish there was a coast allowance, a free pass through certain zones.

I know why the speed limit is there.  It's to keep us safe.

But I think paying for a ticket is cheaper than buying new brakes.

I'm JB and that's “The Way It Oughta Be”.
