(KPLR) – It's a way drivers warn each other about a speed trap.  But it landed one man with a ticket.

I don't know when the practice of headlight flashing started.  I know my dad did it when i was a kid.

It was a way to give drivers a heads up that police are running radar on a stretch of road.

We recently reported on how one driver in Ellisville was ticketed for flashing his lights.  The ACLU is on his side, saying the city has no right to write a ticket.

If the headlight flashing encourages drivers to slow down, then isn't that a good thing?  I don't want anyone else to get a ticket but if you're willing to risk a fine, keep on flashing.
