SULLIVAN, MO. (KPLR) – Residents of Sullivan, Missouri didn’t escape the force of Wednesday night’s storm.  At the Jurgens Trailer Park, just east of Sullivan, residents had just seconds to escape the storm.  Most of damage was concentrated to 40 homes.  One home was lifted off its foundation and thrown into a neighbor’s yard.

The storm took out trees and damaged other homes as it advanced on the Sullivan Regional Airport, causing damage to the some hanger and creating a wind gust of 101 mph.
Fire officials count themselves lucky, in that only one home was completely destroyed and only 4 people suffered minor injuries.

The Red Cross is putting most of its efforts into helping residents of the Jurgens Trailer Park, where most of the damage and injuries were.
