ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Well it’s about dog-on time. The city of St. Louis has recently received notoriety for being not only family friendly, but also pet friendly, too. NerdWallet included the Gateway City in their list of the Ten Best Cities To Have A Dog.
NerdWallet’s website says the company, “empowers consumers to make better decisions about their personal finances, travel plans, or higher education.” Their financial analysts targeted 50 of the most popular U.S. cities to come up with their top rankings to keeping a canine.
Criteria for determining the top cities were:
- Off-leash dog parks per 100,000 residents
- Walkability Score
- Cost of a vet visit
- Overall score for dog owners
St. Louis came out as the top dog in the Midwest and is ranked seventh nationally.
‘St. Louis has plenty of dog parks and a moderately walkable layout. This pet-friendly city has plenty of restaurants and attractions that allow you to bring your dog, including the St. Louis Walk of Fame, Six Flags and Laumeier Sculpture Park.
