MoDOT’s Director Unexpectedly Steps Down

JEFFERSON CITY (KTVI) – Kevin Keith is stepping down as the head of the Missouri Department of Transportation.  According to a release from MoDOT his registration will immediately take effect and Keith will be away for a “medical leave of absence.” He will retire in on July 1, 2013.

Chief Engineer Dave Nichols will take the reigns as MoDOT’s interim director for a minimum of one year.   Nichols started working for MoDOT in 1984.. He has also served as district engineer for the department’s Northwest District headquartered in St. Joseph.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has removed Kevin Keith’s bio from their website.  Their leadership page now only lists Dave Nichols as Chief Engineer and Roberta Broeker as Chief Financial Officer..
