Clayton Water Main Break To Cause Delays

CLAYTON, MO (KPLR) – If your work commute takes you through Clayton, you are in for a travel headache. There’s a water main break on one of Clayton’s busiest roads.

Just before 8:30 Tuesday morning, a portion of road collapsed on Hanley between Bonhomme and Carondelet after a 6-inch water main broke.

Luckily no vehicles were caught in the collapse.

That area is now down to one lane in each direction.

Officials don’t have a timeline yet on when the pipe will be replaced and the road repaired.

Their best advice right now is to avoid the area completely on your evening and morning commutes.
