EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KPLR)– It’s still a mystery as to how a student at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville died.

Tifani Wilder, 24, was found by SIUE police just after 9 p.m. Thursday in her apartment.

Officers were called after numerous attempts to contact Wilder failed. They found Wilder’s 5-year-old son inside the home.

He told officers his mommy would not wake up.

There was no sign of forced entry or struggle.

Toxicology tests will be performed to determine how Wilder died.
