MoDOT Fixing Busy St. Charles Intersection

ST. CHARLES, MO (KPLR)– A big construction project is expected to help cut down with traffic troubles at a busy St. Charles intersection.

The work will be done at Interstate 70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters.

Construction started Monday on a diverging diamond interchange.

Drivers on Mid Rivers Mall Drive will switch from one side of the road to other and then back again.

That allows MoDOT to eliminate some entrance ramps and helps drivers turn left onto the interstate without crossing traffic.

There will be a detour in place for awhile during construction.

MoDOT’s other diverging diamond project was at Dorsett and 270.
