Louisville Celebrates Win With Bill Clinton
NEW YORK, NY (KTVI) – The Louisville Cardinals were all business as they dismantled the Villanova Wildcats at Madison Square Garden, Thursday. The team livened up significantly when Bill Clinton surprised them to celebrate the Big East tournament win.
According to CBS Sports, the 42nd President and Cardinals’ coach, Rick Pitino, have a long standing friendship. Clinton reportedly shared stories with players on his political career and travels as president.
Cardinals’ forward, Chane Behanan, posted pics on Instagram of the team’s first time meeting the former head of state. Shear excitement was plastered across their faces in each shot.
Clinton is an alumnus of Louisville’s conference rival Georgetown University. The team’s victory has set up a potential Big East tournament showdown with the top seeded Hoyas if each squad wins their Friday semifinal match-ups. If the two teams do meet in the championship, Bill may have to choose who he wants to celebrate with next.
