Wrong Woman Buried

INGLEWOOD, CA (KTVI) – Mourners of an elderly Inglewood woman may be mourning for a second time. A mortuary mix-up of the identity of their loved one has fueled the need for another funeral service.

NBC LA reports another woman’s life was mistakenly celebrated and buried in the place of Darlene Davidson. Her husband had complained that it wasn’t his wife prior to the burial during the viewing of the body.

Mortuary officials initially denied there being a mix-up. They contended that her appearance was different due to the embalming process. Officials later recanted their statement after a second family member complained.
