Belleville Duplex Fire Leaves 4 Adults, 4 Kids In The Cold

BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Fire investigators believe a kitchen fire is to blame for gutting a duplex in Belleville.

Firefighters responded to the scene on Northland Drive on the east side of Belleville around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. When crews arrived, they could see heavy fire and smoke coming from one side of the duplex.
Several fire departments responded to battle the blaze.  It took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock down the fire.  Four adults and four children lived in the duplex. All have been displaced.
