ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and nice weather brought thousands of people to the downtown St. Louis area Friday.

“We haven’t spent a lot of time in St. Louis, but it seems like a great city,” Mike Tuey said. “We are going to hit a few places down here.”

Downtown restaurants benefited from the increase in people in the area.

“We are going to get some pizza right down the street,” Teuy said. “It’s just a short walk, and the weather is great.”

The Scottrade Center was filled with fans, like Grant Burns on Friday.

“We are from Iowa and all I have to say is that Arch Madness is the greatest thing,” Burns said. “The arch in the background is beautiful.”

People from Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas and other areas of Missouri were at the games.

“We have talked with people from all over that are really enjoying St. Louis,” Burns said. “We will be back.”

One group of brothers that talked with Fox 2 have been coming to the tournament for more than a decade.

“We all do this a a ritual,”  Sam Pollock said. “Sometimes we hit the same spots in downtown, but sometimes we go to new places in the area.”
