The BSA web site says the 10-day Jamboree will be “one big celebration of Scouting.” They intend to draw as many as 50,000 patrons to attend the event.
The “Call Me Maybe” star joins the rock band “Train” in taking a stance in the wake of the BSA admission controversy. The band posted and linked a tweet to a statement to their website Friday.
“Train strongly opposes any kind of policy that questions the equality of any American citizen,” the statement read.
The band contended they were unaware of the organization’s policy of gay rights and participation when they originally scheduled the performance. Train still may answer the call to perform this summer, barring the BSA’s final decision on the issue.
