Man In Custody In Swansea Homicide Case

SWANSEA, IL (KTVI)- The Major Case Squad is confirming that they have a man in custody they believe is responsible for the death of a Swansea, IL woman. The body of 50-year old Carmen R. Boyd was found Friday in her apartment in the 200 block of Marcella.

Nearly twenty Major Case Squad investigators had been working the case.

Charges are expected to be filed late Sunday or Monday against the man. No other details are being released. This was Swansea’s first homicide since 2006.

Neighbor Joe Levy says he’s glad police have someone in custody.

“Yeah, if he’s the guy who did it, if they got him good, I’m happy for them.”
