Girl Scout Cookie Sales Going High Tech
(KTVI)-No cash, no problem. You can now charge those famous Girl Scout cookies you love so much. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri are taking credit cards at area cookie booths. It is part of a pilot program in partnership with AT&T and Square.
Square is a secure credit card reader that attaches to smartphones allowing troops to accept debit and credit cards, email receipts,and even refund money to customers on-the spot. AT&T is providing the smartphones.
They are also starting an online eCard program for online sales. Girls get to choose a designed eCard, create their own message, and send requests to customers via email. Order forms are returned to the girls in the same online portal for processing.
